What I Think.

(Signs of the Times is a work of fiction based on true events. Views expressed are the characters’ own. Viewer discretion is advised.)

It’s crazy to think at this moment. Absolute dichotomy everywhere you look. But all overlaid over a sea of gray. A vast unknown that is perfectly defined and also so ambiguous. How can that be?

Sometimes I try not to think. Shrinking my thoughts down to an image. Sometimes it’s still. A blade of grass. Sometimes it’s dynamic. Lapping waves on pebbles. Either way, it never lasts.

Back to defined ambiguity. Maybe it’s because we were never designed to live this way. Never designed to communicate so much. Never designed to consume so much language, a thing that has only been in our collective brains for a hundred-thousand years.

The bad news comes faster and harder. Was it always like this?

Light sparkles on wet rocks like diamonds. The water recedes. It comes back. Sparkles, and recedes.
