Fun, Focus, and Progress.

I’ve been a musician my whole life.

Belting Led Zeppelin in 3rd grade? Check.

California All-State Orchestra 3rd-chair bassist? Yep.

Residencies at jazz clubs in Portland that don’t exist anymore? Yessir.

But as I followed my passions, writing took over my life. I played less and less and wrote more and more.

When offered a role at a small online guitar learning membership, I saw an opportunity to combine my love for music and writing.

The rest is history.

For the past 5 years, I’ve been the in-house copywriter and content coordinator for this wildly successful online guitar lesson membership. I’ve handled email drip sequences for product launches, assisted in organic social strategy and production for a YouTube channel, and continue to write email campaigns designed to engage members and prospects.

Email Sequence

The emails written are from the perspective of the founder of the company. The brand voice has been refined over the years to be personable, sometimes goofy, and always sincere.

The following sequence resulted in an average 55% open rate and .9% CTR (when applicable) to a list of over 100k prospects and current members.

Organic YouTube Content & Strategy

Get older guitar learners, frustrated by flashy videos and expensive guitar lessons, to create positive musical habits in their lives by creating a one-stop-shop weekly guitar-geek show.

My role involved concepting show segments for maximum engagement and organic search results, sourcing material for the segments, and creating an overarching content strategy that worked across episodes to create content funnels and themes.
